Dana
What is Dana?
Dana is an ancient word in Pali and Sanskrit meaning giving, generosity. In the Buddhist tradition, the Dharma has passed from generation to generation through generosity of the heart: the teachings are offered freely, and it is the community that sustains them through its giving.
Giving is itself a practice. It is the first of the six perfections (paramitas) on the Buddhist path, an invitation to practice an open and generous heart, each according to their capacity.
What does Dana make possible?
Maitreya Sangha Israel is a non-profit, fully volunteer-run community. The dana of our members is what makes everything possible: the visits of Lama Glenn Mullin and Drupon Chongwol-la to Israel, the weekly practice sessions, translation into Hebrew, venue rentals, and the retreats and events themselves.
Every gift, small or large, holds this path and allows it to keep flourishing here.
All activities are organized with love, entirely by volunteers, by Maitreya Sangha Israel - the Israeli student community of Lama Glenn Mullin.
